- Minerals Availability System (MAS) was established by Bureau in 1975 to ascertain potential supply of selected mineral commodities; Mineral Industry Location System (MILS) provides location and identification information on about 22,000 sites; MAS/MILS database is result of inventorying process to measure resources available at various prices by major deposits, characterizing applicable extraction process, and calculating recoveries and costs.
