Search music related materials statewide
Find audio recordings, scores, books, and other music-related items, in both digital and print formats from music collections across the IU system, including the William and Gayle Cook Music Library, Archives of Traditional Music, the South Bend Schurz Library, and others.
Search Tips
- Use quotation marks to search as a phrase.
- Use "OR", "AND", and "NOT" to create complex boolean logic.
- Truncation and wildcards are not supported - word-stemming is done automatically.
- Access more help at the KB.
To start your music search, you can search for a term in
- All Fields
- Author
- Title
- Subject
All fields will give the broadest results. If you’re searching for something specific, you can click the drop down and select Author, Title, or Subject so the results return your search term in the field you chose.
Music search allows you to refine your initial search in different ways than regular IUCAT searches. You can refine by music specific terms such as:
- Format (recordings, scores, books, etc)
- Instrument (Piano, Voice—tenor, larger ensemble— full orchestra, etc)
- Score Type (Miniature, Piano accompaniment, vocal, etc)
